While I am not a fan of a wal-mart on every corner (although we certainly have a walgreens or a cvs on every corner), I am sorry to read that anyone is looking at foreclosure, including Mr. Miller. The loss of any of our local entrepreneurs who provided good jobs to the community is still a loss. Miller never built anything the city/county didn't permit him to. Especially in the early going he was required by those councils to give back a lot to the community in the form of parks, land for schools, road improvements, etc. He built some nice communities. I still hate those tall condos/hotel on the waterfront, but that's my opinion. I hope Miller and others can weather this downturn and will be able to provide jobs when things turn around. It's up to the community to set the standards for what is built, where its built, how high its built, etc. Contractors are in the business of building, but they follow the community guidelines. Look to community standards for responsibility for what gets built.
