Doesn't it make you wonder why Sunshine law violations with past council were an issue? We all know they were just as guilty. Obviously, the election by the overwhelming majority of citizens sparked a revolt by the anti-residents, i.e. self interest groups like CQG. The new council is a victim of this incredulous backlash and I have no doubt that former city manager Martin Black plays a major role. Ask yourself: What concern would a felon from Sarasota have in Venice politics if he weren't sought out to do the dirty deed? Venice certainly hasn't sought actions against Sarasota government for their blatant vilations of the same so don't be naive.
