Note that those who freak out are co-defendants and their attorneys. Mayor Ed Martin and Councilman John Simmonds both blow out a sprocket. Bob Anderson freaks out as he'd rather not deal with it. I wish I could make this stuff up, but real life is so much weirder: Jeff Boone worries for his life as he is afraid someone might shoot him.
Two videos are below on this page. In the first, I state my case. Simmonds responds by calling it harassment. Simmonds then admits, denies, and admits while denying committing Sunshine Law violations. He claims to have absolutely no recollection that he denied doing city business on his home computer and claims that Mogensen isn't going to buy my crap as she's a pretty smart lady.
What Simmonds still hasn't figured out is that the only reason I remembered these emails from him was because Mogensen's office called me up to ask me if I had written them and if I had copies of the full chain. Up until that phone call, I had totally forgotten about Simmonds stating to me that he didn't do city business on his home computer.
NEXT UP......
City Attorney Bob Anderson and Mayor Ed Martin freak out because... damn...
the next time it might be them. Clearly, this cannot be allowed. This is
followed by Jeff Boone, attorney for John Simmonds. Boone is concerned that (I'm
not making this up) someone might go berserk and pull out a gun.
I don't know who is selling the good acid to council and their attorneys, but this is obviously some damned pure 1968 vintage.
Just for the sake of irony, look for the back and forth discussion between the Mayor and Boone, as this is what the Mayor wants to prohibit when it is me doing it.
Insanity from fear has taken over. Rabid dogs now run our city. The words "fear" and "loathing" have never been more appropriate. You don't spend that much time trying to shoot down a madman. The kind of extensive discussion these guys are having happens when a nerve has been hit dead on. You don't talk like that unless you are absolutely scared shitless. Between Boone, Anderson, Simmonds, and Martin, you are looking at four men who are exhibiting all the signs of just that -- being scared shitless.
The only thing I can figure is that both Martin and Anderson are terrified that someone may call for their resignations soon. Given their behavior and performance here, I'd be hard pressed not to join in. I'm tellin' ya -- this is bad. This is very, very bad. When Jeff Boone starts raising nutcase fears that he might be shot over a call for an official's resignation and council nods along in terrified agreement, you can come to a pretty safe conclusion that we are being ruled by madmen.
That still leaves a question unanswered: If someone catches a city official doing something wrong, what part of a city council would be appropriate to "redress" that "grievance?"
OK.... moving right along...
