"Attached, please find a copy of an email from John Patten to Chief Williams requesting that the Police Department undertake a criminal investigation into a perception he has that Mr. Tacy is being "bullied" or somehow intimidated into not pursuing a formal complaint against the Mayor and Ms. Lang. Chief Williams brought this issue to my attention yesterday and confirmed that she did not believe there was sufficient cause for an investigation and that, in any event, in would be inappropriate for our department to conduct the investigation. I confirmed with Mr. Tacy that he has not been threatened, "bullied," or otherwise intimidated regarding this issue."

(Marty -- is it possible, JUST ONCE, just for the pure sake of novelty, to
send out a single memo that does not employ straw man tactics? C'mon, you're
an imaginative guy, your memos clearly show it. Give it a try, surprise us
all, nobody would ever expect it. If this battle you have with truth is
obsessive/compulsive, perhaps the city's health benefits package covers
counseling.)

To All:

Contrary to Mr. Black's memo, I had no perception whatsoever that Mr. Tacy
is being bullied. Of course, Marty knew that, but that's not what he wrote.
Typical Marty crap, and it was pretty clear in my email what I was asking
for.

Someone else had that perception, though, and it was out there in public
view, in emails to the city servers and in several posts on the message
board at www.venfl.com that were deleted. It was an email I received from a
resident that I was referencing. Marty knew that.

This is typical of Marty -- on a previous occasion I was touted to council
as opposing Christmas bonuses, when in fact I opposed purchasing bonus gifts
as a political payback to a CQG supporter, namely Steve Harner.

I was asking Chief Williams to look into Mr. Tacy's allegations of Sunshine
Law violations and into any harassment he might be receiving to clear the
air on what I felt were bogus allegations by both the emailer and Mr. Tacy.

Since then, Tacy has retracted his comments, sort of, but then in today's
[Gondolier] he repeats that he has knowledge of Sunshine Law violations.

To Mr. Tacy, I urge you again to come forth and make a formal complaint if
you have any proof of these new allegations. I also ask Marty Black to
direct the police department either to investigate Tacy's allegations or to
call the FDLE and request an investigation based on Tacy's complaint as
stated in today's [Gondolier].

Now Marty, if you have any questions, any questions at all about what I am
requesting here, please feel free not to call me and instead write another
memo to council stating that it is your understanding to the best of your
recollection as you remember it that I was requesting an investigation into
why there is no sunshine at night.

What is it, you just don't give a crap anymore? I used to laugh, but I'm
getting sick of you pulling this crap, you've done it too many times, and I
will call you out on it from here on out. Tell the truth or shut yer
piehole. That won't leave you much to say, I know, but that works too.

There. Glad I got that off my chest. I feel much better now.
